ZF Steering Gear (India) Limited announces commissioning of its 5 MW Solar Power Project.

ZF Steering Gear (India) Limited (ZF India), the pioneers in Power Steerings in India, have successfully accomplished yet another power packed initiative. This achievement stands testimony to ZF India’s passionate efforts to foster sustainable and green energy solutions for a brighter tomorrow.

The Solar Power Project is located at Gujarat Solar Park in Patan (Kutch) District of Gujarat. This project is in furtherance to ZF India’s commitment towards ‘Green- Initiative’. The Company already operates 6.7 MW Windmill Projects in Maharashtra, located at Satara and Ahmednagar.

This 5 MW Solar Project was awarded by the Government of Gujarat under the Gujarat Solar Policy, 2009. The plant adopts thin film technology using Market Leader First Solar Inc.’s Modules. The initial generation of Electricity, recorded so far from this Project, indicates that the project is one of the best performing solar Projects in Gujarat. Electricity generated from the plant is being purchased by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL), as per the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed with Govt. of Gujarat. The PPA is valid for 25 years.
